Nessie lives in the city of Katy in Texas, United States.

He was a little different from the rest of the dogs, but he had so much love to give that he always faced each day with a lot of energy and joy. Nessie did not have her forelimbs due to a genetic disorder . This usually happens as a result of irresponsible breeding processes.

Apart from not having her front legs, Nessie is in good health.

Some people do not take the necessary measures to ensure the good of future puppies and when a “different” one like Nessie is born, they simply get rid of them. The first years of the pretty Chihuahua’s life were very difficult because she couldn’t find a family. No one wanted to take care of a puppy like her.

Nessie was adopted three times but was returned over time.

Finally, Theresa Locayano arrived, as soon as she saw Nessie’s story on social networks, she fell completely in love with her.

Theresa had no experience with special needs dogs, but something inside of her told her that she was destined to help the little girl. She came to the shelter determined to adopt her, and within hours, Nessie and Theresa seemed like best friends.

“When I saw her I thought that she must be very scared for having spent so much time in that shelter. She had been returned several times and it was time for someone to help her ,” Theresa recalls.

This time, Nessie had found her ultimate family , one day Theresa contacted the rescuers and left them speechless, she wanted to adopt other puppies like Nessie to give them a life full of love.

That is how Nessie met her little brothers, they have become a happy herd and they love to play and go all over the house to ask their mother for pampering.

Nessie was adopted when she was already eight years old.

Theresa contacted several vets and they designed a special chair for Nessie. However, the sweet Chihuahua has so much energy and determination that she is more comfortable jumping and walking her way.

It took her a long time to find a family and now she is willing to make the most of every minute of joy.

Nessie has a very close friendship with her brother Frankie Lou.

Many people think twice before adopting a special needs puppy. Indeed, it is a delicate task but the love that is received in return is enormous. They are furry ones who have come to teach us a great lesson about the importance of helping those who need it most.
