Harold was born in a pet factory that locks mother dogs in small cages and breeds hundreds of puppies for sale.
Animals from pet factories are at increased risk for heart disease, stroke, blood pressure, blindness and permanent paralysis due to overbreeding.
Harold was sold to an unaware bidder for $7,000 after taking a few failed breaths. Harold was taken home by his old owner, who cared for him during his severe respiratory illness.
Later, if anyone knew, Harold lost the flexibility to move his hind legs due to the curvature of the spine caused by overbreeding at the pet factory; the disease is similar to scoliosis and eliminates all sensation in his hindquarters. Doctors detected
Ulcerations and strictures of Harold’s intestines, gastric adhesions, swollen lymphoid tissue, enlarged liver and gastric fluid levels throughout the abdomen and esophagus during an emergency exploratory procedure.
